Knitting & Crochet Group
The All Saints Knitting & Crochet Group began in 2008 to learn, exchange patterns and techniques, and motivate each other to complete some knitting/crocheting projects. Soon, this small group of crafters began to teach knitting and crocheting to beginners two evenings a month in the Guild Room. We’ve donated knitted baby items to local hospitals and Genesis and teddy bears to Jeremiah’s Place. Other recipients of knitted items have been disabled veterans at the local Veteran’s Hospital and impoverished children from the World Vision Knit for Kids program.

Northside Food Pantry
We have two baskets near the front entrance of the church for donations of non-perishable items. The Northside Food Pantry is Pittsburgh’s largest food pantry, serving seniors, veterans, and families who live in the 15212, 15214 and 15233 zip codes. Low-sodium, hearty staples are always appreciated. Bulk packages (a case of soup vs. a can of soup) help to ensure that there is more to go around. Because visitors to the food pantry receive an allotment of food based on weight, items not individually packaged are often portioned out by volunteers into 1-pound bags for distribution. Non-food items such as paper towels, toilet paper, and cleaners cannot be purchased with food stamps or at a discount by the pantry and are in high demand.
Shepherd’s Heart Fellowship
Shepherd’s Heart Followship provides the homeless with food, showers, and laundry services. They also provide transitional housing for homeless veterans in their Shepherd’s Heart Veteran’s Home. Donation envelopes are available on the back entrance table, collected each Sunday during the offering.
Salvation Army
We support the Salvation Army Emergency Food Pantry with food collections 3 to 4 times per year. We also have the opportunity to participate in the annual Adopt-A-Family Christmas program, as well as the Treasures for Children toy-sorting at the Salvation Army warehouse.
Genesis of Pittsburgh
Established in 1983, Genesis is a maternity care facility located on a quiet residential street in Bellevue, PA. The residence and future-planning center is for woman who are pregnant over the age of 18 and in need of shelter. The house can accommodate up to 8 women at a time. The goal of the program is to provide a self-help, home-like environment aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility and independence.
The DoorWay
The DoorWay is another local organization that often benefits from our food donations. For 33 years, The DoorWay has served youth and adults who are struggling with addiction, abuse or neglect. This Christ-centered ministry is located at 10 California Avenue, Pittsburgh.
