Please join the parish as we celebrate Holy Week!
On Sunday, March 29, we will begin our Holy Week services with our Palm Sunday Celebration. The congregation will gather in the Guild Room at 10:30 AM and receive palms. We will then process into the church waving our palm fronds and singing, “All glory, laud and honor”. With the waving of palms, the congregation is reminded of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem the week before his death and resurrection. We will also read the Passion of the Lord during our Palm Sunday Service.
On Thursday, April 2, we will celebrate Maundy Thursday (also known as Holy Thursday) at a 7:00PM service. At the conclusion of this moving service, we will strip the altar, extinguish the lights, and leave in penitent silence.
On Good Friday, April 3, we will participate in the Veneration of the Cross at Noon. Solemn collects, meditations and anthems will be part of the special service. Brenda, our organist and pianist, will be accompanied by a guest violinist, Julia Simeone.
On Easter Sunday, April 5th, our Alleluia’s return as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ! This joyous service will also have musical accompaniment by Brenda and Julia. We will have our traditional Easter reception at the conclusion of the service. Please let us know if you plan to contribute an appetizer or dessert to the reception table. Also, Easter baskets will be given to all children in attendance. If you are new to the parish and would like your child to receive a basket, please contact the church office and leave your child’s name and age by Friday, the 3rd.
