Knit & Crochet

If you were at Faith, Food and Fellowship Knit & Crochet Fashion Show in late October, you saw that our Knit Crochet group creates infant to adult “fashions”, as well as doggy fashions and household items. Did we inspire you to come join us? We’ll be meeting again on November 19th, and the first and third Wednesdays of every month. Both men and women are welcomed!

We need Angels and Shepherds!

The Christmas Eve Pageant is returning to All Saints, so we need a couple of angels, shepherds and a Mary and Joseph! If your little angel wants to participate, please let Karen or Daryl know ASAP. They need to plan for costumes. If you have any friends who would like their children to participate too, please let us know. Join angels, shepherds, and Mary and Joseph as they celebrate the birth of our Savior! The Pageant and Rite II Christmas Service will begin at 5:00PM. The earlier time will accommodate our young families, so our angels will remain wide awake …

Soup Saturday’s Return!

Soup Saturday returned to Oliver Hall this past Saturday, October 18th! Many locals were waiting for their soup even before the doors officially opened at noon–a testament to the fact that our soups are warm and delicious! We ladled out a variety of soups including: Daryl’s Broccoli Cheese, Bob’s Beef Vegetable, Sharon’s Stuffed Potato, Karen’s Wedding, Sue’s Chicken Noodle, and Michelle’s Spicy Pumpkin. Fresh bread from Breadworks was offered as well. A free bowl of soup and bread are always offered to those who want to eat in the parish hall–it is a nice opportunity for fellowship with the local …

Testimony from Amy Brooks

Author and artist, Amy Brooks, shared her testimony with the All Saints parish on October 19th. Accompanied by her dog, Logic, and her family, Amy gave us an inspiring talk about her faith, and shared some of her physical challenges in regard to being born without arms and legs. At the reception which followed Amy’s presentation, she displayed her artwork and signed books. Her artwork was beautiful and detailed, and she sold a number of pieces. She sold a number of her signed book, Unseen Arms, too. She was very appreciative of the warm reception and the generosity of those in …

Little Saints Room Project

Joe and Christy Warner, Jason Brucker and Patrick Price have begun to remove the wallpaper border and prep the walls in the Little Saints Room for a  fresh coat of paint. The flooring has been picked out and will be installed once the wall work has been completed. We know the kids, and Miss Daryl, will be happy to have a fun, bright, and shiny classroom for their education activities. Once the room is complete, we will have a dedication party to celebrate! We will keep you posted on the progress!

In Memoriam–Martha J. Carothers

On September 26th, Father John and the parish celebrated a funeral service for Martha J. Carothers, a longtime parishioner. Martha was 95 years old and a long-time Brighton Heights resident. A few years back, Martha relocated to Ohio to be close to her daughter, but she remained in contact with the parish during her absence. We remember that Martha had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, and could be found each week in her favorite pew. She was an avid participant in Faith, Food and Fellowship, and was supportive of church activities. She was a lovely woman and she will be missed not …

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Evans

Dear June, The “Peace Banner” is dedicated today in honor of you, and your late husband Elmer, and your loving and longstanding service to the parish of All Saints Brighton Heights. Your history with this parish began before this church site was even in existence. As June McNeil, born on June 30, 1921, you were baptized at the original site of our church on California Avenue. On Sunday mornings, you would walk with your family to church. Once the new church was built in 1931, you began to worship here. At our new altar, you made a mature public affirmation …

The Rev. Richard A. Pollard

Dear Father Dick, On this day of Pentecost, we celebrate the arrival of the Holy Spirit. And with the power of the Holy Spirit, believers receive gifts of the Spirit.  And some, like you, have been given the gifts of teaching and preaching—and encouragement. You have used these gifts in your ordained ministry, and our parish has been the beneficiary. We crafted our “Bread Banner” to be a fitting tribute not only for your years of ordained ministry but also in thanksgiving for the loving service you have provided our parish. At a time when we did not have a …
