The Rev. Lynn C. Edwards

Dear Father Lynn,

You demonstrated your reverence for the Eucharist at our altar, and celebrated the mysteries of Christ’s Body and Blood with the All Saints parish. For this reason, we crafted our “Bread Banner” to be a fitting tribute not only for your years of ordained ministry but also in thanksgiving for the loving service you have provided our parish.

You have helped us at two important times in the life of our church. The first time was when you were our interim priest. In that role, you helped us evaluate and discover the type of priest we were seeking. We found, though, that you were not just a “caretaker” priest. Every week, you spent time teaching us about our Book of Common Prayer. And as you were tasked by the bishop in your  ordination vows many years before:  You preached; declared God’s forgiveness to the penitent; and pronounced God’s blessings to all of us.

We found ourselves without a full-time priest a few years later and you once again, assisted us. You came numerous times to lead and preach at our services; even when, you had to rely on bus transportation to the church. In addition, you helped the Senior Warden and the Vestry with questions about the service, and guided Father John when he was our resident seminarian. You called periodically to make sure everything was “okay” and undertook the vows you declared, To be a faithful pastor to all whom you are called to serve, laboring together with them and with your fellow ministers to build up the family of God. Your time with us, and your gifts,     demonstrated how the Holy Spirit works among us to build the Church.

We cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for us. We are truly blessed by you.
